THEORETICAL FRAMEWORK
On silence, friction, and endurance.
The principles governing our studio practice since foundation in Stockholm.
I. The Priority of Empty Space
In contemporary software and architecture, noise is ubiquitous. We treat empty space not as absence, but as a defined material dimension. Space allows proportion to reveal itself, granting the eye rest and clarity.
II. Honest Materiality
We do not simulate materials. If an object is titanium, it reflects the coldness of titanium. If a medium is digital, it adheres strictly to the mathematical constraints of display resolution without faux skeuomorphism.
III. Resistance to Trend
Trends are ephemeral cycles designed to manufacture obsolescence. Our standard of evaluation is ten years: if a typeface, grid system, or layout cannot sustain its relevance across a decade, it does not leave the workshop.
